Koho‘ia: Native Hawaiian Storytelling with Digital Media (2009-2013)
The Krause Family Foundation supported a U.S. Department of Education, Native Hawaiian Career and Technical Education Program (NHCTEP) grant (V259A0090012): Koho‘ia: Native Hawaiian Storytelling with Digital Media ($632,000.00). The foundation helped provide program enhancements for student participants. Educational opportunities included cultural, place-based digital media, graphic design, and English/Language Arts enrichment at the intermediate, secondary, and postsecondary level toward career pathway exploration with relevant industries. Program enhancements included the acquisition of additional technology to expand capacity as provided through the grant award, thus increasing student participation and opportunities for project replication.
